The Fifth Toy Story Film Trailer Sets Woody and Buzz Against a Tablet Computer
It has been 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story movie debuted, establishing the animation giant as a leading film company and introducing audiences to iconic figures like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now famous worldwide.
Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed this week, offering a glimpse into the storyline but leaving viewers wondering how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
The Latest Addition: A Digital Device Frightens the Gang
In the teaser reveals Bonnie — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — getting a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie gets her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.
Theoretically, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the toys appear to consider it as a danger coming to replace them, which it probably is.
The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
An element the teaser doesn't touch on is why the sheriff is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), traveling with a fair and assisting prize toys find good homes.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him appear in the familiar setting without warning is a little strange, however. It also makes us wonder whether his partner will have come back with Woody. And where is the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
Connections from the Previous Film
At the very least, some aspects are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was hand over his sheriff badge to Jessie (the voice actor), leaving her in charge of the toy domain. The clip displays the insignia attached to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the group.
Toy Story 5 arrives in theaters on the scheduled date.
